Saskatchewan Roughriders QB Darian Durant missed practice Monday with a walking boot on his injured right foot. The 30-year-old says he has a sprained foot suffered in the teams Week 3 win over the Toronto Argonauts. With a long week between games, Durant says its possible he could practice later in the week if the pain decreases but also that he wouldnt jeopardize his teams chances by coming back too early. Both Durant and head coach Corey Chamblin said they have confidence in backup Drew Willy if Durant were to miss the teams next game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Durant has been red-hot to start the season for the undefeated Roughriders, throwing for 674 yards and eight touchdowns to zero interceptions. In other news, Chamblin said veteran slotback Geroy Simon will likely finally make his debut this week. And former Ticats linebacker Rey Williams says he will likely have some trash talk for current Ticats and former Riders head coach Kent Austin during the game over how Austin handled the releasing of Williams this off-season.
