Mike Conley and the Memphis Grizzlies have agreed in principle on a five-year, $153 million deal, according to league sources. This would be the richest contract by total value in NBA history, according to ESPN Stats & Information. It also would be the first deal worth $100 million or more total with an average annual value of more than $30 million per year.Sources told ESPN that the verbal agreement would be sealed Friday night and the final details were nearing conclusion.Conley, 28, who has never been an All-Star and was known for years as the NBAs most underrated player, also met with the Dallas Mavericks on Friday afternoon. However, the Grizzlies were always widely considered the heavy favorites to keep the nine-year veteran, who was drafted by Memphis with the fourth overall pick in 2007.The Mavs and other suitors could only offer Conley a max contract worth approximately $114 million over four years.Former Dallas forward Chandler Parsons will be one of Conleys teammates after agreeing to terms on a four-year, $94.8 million max contract with the Grizzlies earlier Friday. Sources said the pair had extended conversations about teaming up with the Grizzlies but never discussed the possibility of playing together in Dallas.Conley missed 26 games this past season -- the most since his debut in 2007-08 -- including the final 20 with left Achilles tendinitis for a Grizzlies team that made the playoffs despite setting an NBA record for most players used (28) in a single season. He finished with averages of 15.3 points, 6.1 assists and 2.9 rebounds per game, and had the sixth-best real plus-minus (plus-2.71) among NBA point guards. The five-year, $45 million extension he signed with the team in 2010 was widely questioned, given his lack of production to that point. But he went on to help lead the Grizzlies to a franchise-record six straight playoff appearances, including a Western Conference finals berth in 2012-13.During that time, Conley has become a principal figure in the Grizzlies Grit N Grind era. He also has formed a close relationship with center Marc Gasol, and it was widely reported that Conley aggressively recruited his teammate of eight years before Gasol re-signed with the Grizzlies last summer for $110 million over five years.Mike [being in Memphis] was big, Gasol told Sports Illustrated this season in regard to his free-agent decision. I will go through any type of wall for that guy.Conley was honored with his second Joe Dumars Trophy for sportsmanship this past season, becoming only the third player in the awards two decades to win more than once.Information from ESPNs Justin Verrier was used in this report.Nike Air Force Καλυτερη Τιμη . It was the kind of score that might make everyone else wonder which course he was playing. Except that Graeme McDowell saw the whole thing. Crouched behind the 10th green at Sheshan International, McDowell looked over at the powerful American and said, "Ive probably seen 18 of the best drives Ive seen all year in the last two days. LOUIS -- Roman Polak was celebrating even before Alexander Steen scored the winning goal in Saturdays 4-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.AUSTIN, Texas -- Winning at home was fun while it lasted. The surprising Texas Longhorns are about to test their mettle on the road. After opening the season with home wins over Notre Dame and UTEP, the No. 11 Longhorns wont play at Royal-Memorial Stadium again for a month with three road games and bye week coming up. The road swing starts Saturday at California (1-1) with games at Oklahoma State and against No. 14 Oklahoma in Dallas after that. That means no sleeping in their own bed the night before kickoff, no short bus trips to the stadium and no home crowd clad in burnt orange cheering Texas Fight! No sweat, says freshman quarterback Shane Buechele, who has been impressive in his first two starts with 524 yards passing and six touchdowns.Same thing, just somewhere different, Buechele said. Im just excited to go out there and play somewhere else and see what its like.Youthful enthusiasm abounds at Texas these days. It did last year, too, until the first road game after a surprising thumping of Oklahoma was a 24-0 loss at Iowa State, a defeat sophomore linebacker Malik Jefferson called one of the lowest points of his life.Texas was an awful road team in 2015. The Longhorns went 1-4 on opponents home field last season and didnt win until beating Baylor in the final game. They were outscored in the ffour losses 150-30.ddddddddddddGuys werent ready last year, Jefferson said. A lot of guys were down last year because they couldnt move past the past. Were more focused. Its not just the road environments that will be a challenge. Texas faces three top quarterbacks in its next three games, starting with Californias Davis Webb.Webb has already passed for nine touchdowns and more than 900 yards in two games and will be eyeing a Texas secondary that was solid last week against UTEPs backup quarterbacks, but gave up five touchdown passes to Notre Dame. The Texas depth chart lists 13 freshmen or sophomores on the two-deep roster. Its going to be a big challenge for our secondary, Texas coach Charlie Strong said. Youre taking a young team into a hostile environment. Were going to have to play incredible defense. We can take the crowd out of it with good defense.Add in the time zone wrinkle -- California is two hours behind Texas and the game wont start until 7:30 p.m. on the West coast -- and the Texas could be playing a game that ends well after midnight back home. Were going to be a little bit out of our element, Strong said. We need to grow up quickly and grow up and play well. ' ' '
