Danny Willett was left encouraged by a strong start to the week on home soil as he made an early move at the BMW PGA Championship. The Masters champion carded a bogey-free 66 to sit one off the pace at Wentworth, trailing Scott Hend, former champion Y.E Yang and Joost Luiten.Willett, who was in contention at last weeks Irish Open before struggling over the weekend, followed three birdies on the front nine with three more after the turn to become the only player to sign a blemish-free card. This week is Willetts first appearance in England since last months victory at Augusta and the world No 9, whose best finish at Wentworth saw him fifth on his debut in 2010, admits enjoying his home return. Stats-wise, we probably didnt hit loads of fairways but were never in too much trouble, Willett added. Hit some great mid to short irons and rolled a few putts in.Its always nice when you come off bogey-free. It means youve played some real good golf and youve not given any stupid shots away to the golf course. Highlights from day one of the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth I played the par-fives particularly average in fairness, after relatively good drives on most of them. It could have been a really good day, but its a good, solid start to the week.Playing alongside Victor Dubuisson and Soomin Lee, Willett made a bright start with a birdie-two at the second.Being followed by large crowd, the Englishman added gains at the sixth and eighth and saw another birdie chance at the ninth lip out to reach the turn in 32. Willett is playing the event for the seventh year running The world No 9 picked up a shot at the 10th and rolled in a 10-footer at the 14th to get to five under, before getting up-and-down to leave a close-range gain at the par-five 17th.Needing another birdie at the last to join the leading group, Willett elected to lay up for par to stay one adrift of the early pacesetters. Last week in Ireland was fantastic, but there was a little bit more support out there being a home boy in England, Willett added. They dont have to be here and they dont have to come out supporting, but they do.The greens are in a little better than I think they were last year and the last couple years, and I think everyone would agree with that. Hopefully if it stays like this, so well get a nice, easy full-flowing week.Weve played pretty solid over the last few years and were up there in contention a few years back with Luke Donald in the last round. This is a place I enjoy. I enjoy the golf course and I enjoy the challenge of it. You just hope for four good days of weather and keep the crowds coming in, and then you never know.Watch the BMW PGA Championship throughout the week live on Sky Sports 4 - your home of golf Also See: Willett shines at Wentworth Lowry four off the pace First round leaderboard Donald off to fast start Nike Air Max Plus Tn Ultra Customize . 10 Texas A&Ms offence dominated as usual against SMU. KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam was deposed Tuesday in a civil lawsuit against the Pilot Flying J truck-stop chain, which is owned by his brother, Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam, and other family members.According to a court notice filed in Franklin County, Ohio, the deposition that was originally to be videotaped at a Knoxville, Tennessee, law office was moved to the conference room at the Pilot Aviation hangar at that citys airport. The lawsuit was filed by companies that declined to participate in an $85 million settlement between Pilot and 5,500 trucking companies in connection with a scheme to cheat customers out of promised discounts and rebates. The company also paid a $92 million federal penalty in an agreement with prosecutors in which the company accepted responsibility for the criminal actions of its employees.Ten former Pilot employees have pleaded guilty in the scheme, and the companys former president and several others face trial next year in federal court.I knew nothing about the misconduct of some of our former employees, Pilot CEO Jimmy Haslam said in a statement following the deposition. I wish I could discuss this entire matter freely with you today and answer your questions as I did the plaintiffs..dddddddddddd. I cant do that yet.The depositions were not open to the public.Haslam attorney A. B. Culvahouse said in a statement that his client has done everything within his power to understand what happened and to make things right by his customers. We think this entire exercise today was nothing more than an effort by the plaintiffs to harass the company into a windfall settlement, he said. The scheme became public after federal agents raided the companys headquarters in April 2013. A 120-page FBI affidavit unsealed after the search contained transcripts of secretly recorded conversations among the sales team deriding some trucking clients as unsophisticated, lazy and undeserving of rebates.Pilot Flying J is the nations largest diesel retailer with annual revenues of about $30 billion.Bill Haslam has said he has not been involved with operating Pilot Flying J since he left the company to run for Knoxville mayor in 2003. But his family continues to own a majority share in the privately held company, and the governor has kept his personal share outside of a blind trust established for his other investments. ' ' '
