Focus on... The title raceIt seems like when one Mercedes driver is up at the moment, the other is down. In Baku, the title fight swung back in the direction of Nico Rosberg after disappointing races in Monaco and Canada. The championship leader has a 24-point cushion over Lewis Hamilton and now heads to a grand prix he has been dominant at since it returned to the calendar in 2014, with back-to-back wins and 105 laps led. Having gone to Rosberg and then Hamilton, the momentum now appears to be back in the formers camp at a crucial moment, with four races in just five weeks. It might be wrong to be talking about the title race as a two-man fight but these next few races feel important in determining whether Ferrari can be a genuine player in the championship after the summer break. If a win does not materialise before then, and with focus soon shifting towards 2017s projects, it is hard to see anything other than the Silver Arrows drivers fighting for the title. Sebastian Vettel has kept himself just in range of the Mercedes pair with consistent podiums but his chances of a genuine challenge are fading -- although he and Kimi Raikkonen will remain interesting players in the title fight regardless. In previous years, it was likely the Mercedes drivers would only take seven points off each other but with Ferrari -- and potentially Red Bull -- closer than ever there are big points up for grabs, as both Rosberg and Hamilton have found in previous weekends.?Mercedes advantage in Baku was an anomaly at a unique circuit. The power-hungry Austria circuit is a perfect chance to see what the pecking order really looks like as we near the half-way point of 2016.?In need of a winFerrari talked a big game coming into 2016 but we still havent seen the Italian team win. Sebastian Vettel has kept himself in the hunt but a failure to win again this weekend will only see the points gap continue to widen -- a win in a place like Austria would prove Ferraris package has the ability to fight Mercedes right though to November.?In need of pointsJolyon Palmer still has a zero next to his name in the standings. Renaults drivers have struggled of late, which has not been helped by the teams slow resurgence from the Lotus days, but there are starting to be questions asked about rookie Palmer and his teammate Kevin Magnussen.ESPN predictionRosberg has had Hamiltons number in Austria since its return to the calendar, with wins in 2014 and 2015. This weekends race follows his timely return to the top step in Baku and, at a circuit still defined by power, ESPN is backing Rosberg to lead a Mercedes one-two in Spielberg this weekend and extend his championship lead.BettingThe bookies have ignored the current and historical form guide, backing Hamilton to win at 6/5, with odds of 13/8 for Rosberg to claim his third straight win in Austria. Vettel could be in the mix at 6/1. Sergio Perezs recent form sees him on odds of 5/1 to return to the podium, while Renaults Jolyon Palmer is being backed to be the first retirement at 11/1.WeatherWe could be in for another chaotic weekend. Showers and thunderstorms threaten throughout the weekend, though F1 weather service Ubimet says sun and clouds should prevail come the grand prix on Sunday afternoon. The rain looks more likely to affect Saturdays qualifying session and a disrupted set of practice sessions could limit the amount of data the teams take into the race itself.A lap with... Romain GrosjeanIts a funny place to race being in the middle of the mountains. The circuit is very short. The lap time is almost like Monaco. There are some overtaking opportunities. The track, in general, has two very different parts. I quite like the middle sector. There are medium- to high-speed corners. Youve got turn one and turn two, which are very similar. Both are 90-degree turns with big braking and long, straight lines. Youve then got the second part which is more flowing. You start with big braking into turn one, a 90-degree corner. Its very important to go early on the power. Theres then a long straight line going up to turn two where you brake very late into the corner, and theres a change of camber. You go flat again after that to turn three. Again, tricky braking there as youre going downhill. Then youve got a double-left corner, medium- to high-speed turns. The last couple of turns are the same as you go up the hill and then down again. It can be pretty tricky, but if you get the grip under the car and a good balance, it can be a lot of fun to drive. It was a shame about the race in Baku that we had to have the extra pit stop. I think we could have scored points. We were looking pretty good up until that point. Some of the races were now going to should be better for us. We still need to work on getting the best out of the tires when its cold. We have some graining issues as well, but were still a brand new team and we havent had many options to try different things. Were going in a good direction even though we havent scored points in a while.TyresTyres: Soft, super-soft and ultra-softCircuit facts, courtesy of Pirelli:? The first two sectors are fast with the final sector being slower and more technical.? The circuit tests a wide spectrum of a tyres ability, in terms of lateral and longitudinal loading.? Wear, degradation and temperatures are quite low, which is why we have the softest tyres.? Judging the braking points is quite complex, as there are a number of uphill braking areas.? The track surface is generally low-grip and low abrasion, as well as being bumpy in places.? Spielberg is the shortest lap time of the year with only nine corners, so precision is vital.Scarpe Nike In Offerte .
