THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. -- Embattled cornerback Troy Hill cleared waivers and rejoined the Los Angeles Rams as a member of their practice squad on Wednesday, four days after getting arrested on suspicion of DUI.Its a humbling experience, Hill said after Wednesdays practice, and Im thankful for these coaches. I let them down, and theyre giving me a second opportunity, so its a humbling experience, and I just want to do everything I can to show them that I can be trusted and work my way back. The Rams also re-signed cornerback Steve Williams, who had been released earlier this season, and put him on their active roster. Williams was coming off his second stint with the San Diego Chargers and has made four starts in his three-year career, picking up a couple of interceptions.Hill was arrested on Saturday morning after his Mercedes swerved over multiple lanes on an L.A. freeway and crashed into the back of a semi-truck around 8 a.m. PT, according to multiple reports. He was then given a field sobriety test, handcuffed on the spot and booked in Van Nuys, California. The Rams de-activated Hill from Sundays game against the Miami Dolphins, then waived him on Tuesday. But Rams coach Jeff Fisher said then that he was not going to rule out a second opportunity for the 25-year-old cornerback.I think people deserve second chances in life, Fisher said then. I think he learned from it, but I was just disappointed in his choices.Hill -- the Rams fourth cornerback on the depth chart, after Trumaine Johnson, E.J. Gaines and slot corner Lamarcus Joyner - was released from custody later in the afternoon on $15,000 bail and has a preliminary court date for Dec. 14.Despite being undrafted out of Oregon and measuring only 5-foot-11, Hill is a solid tackler who continually improved in pass coverage. In his last game, a 9-6 win over the New York Jets in Week 11, Hill graded out as the Rams best defensive player, according to Pro Football Focus. But now he basically has to start from scratch.I know I let this team down, Hill said. I went to Coach Fisher and I told him, I let the team down, and I let you down personally. I know what it looks like, but theres things that go along with it, too. I was thankful for the opportunity, and just want to show this team, and everybody in the organization, that they can trust me. Ill keep working my way back up until I prove myself again. Sebastian Polter has been in great form of late, and I fancy him for a first goal. He got one last week, and fancy him for more. Top player. He just needs to get his hair sorted! I think Hull will slip up here. Bristol city hit six last time, and have made an excellent signing in the form of Peter Odemwingie, and I think he can be the difference here. This could be deemed a shock, but Hull are in a bit of blip, despite playing well enough, and Bristol City are on a bit of a roll now. It is very difficult to get the win at this time of year when you are expected to.
