The Toronto Raptors have parted ways with former player and scout Alvin Williams. Williams served in a variety of roles with the Raptors since 2009, including assistant coach and director of player development. "Its disappointing. It hurt when I was let go as a player and (again) now," Williams said Monday afternoon on TSN 1050 Radios TSN Drive with Dave Naylor. "When you think about how you want to expand your career and youre always told that youre playing career wont last forever; you always look for other things to do. I love basketball and I love Toronto and I just thought that combination alone was the end-all be-all for me as. "That being said; its part of the business, as we all know," Williams continued, "Im not the first person let go and Im sure I wont be the last. I wish things were different but you just have to keep moving forward now." Most recently, Williams was performing scouting duties based out of his hometown of Philadelphia. The 38-year-old spent the majority of his nine-year playing career with the Raptors and helped lead the team to its first playoff series win in 2001. He was acquired in 1998 from the Portland Trail Blazers in a trade for Damon Stoudamire.
