Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo says he does not understand the fuss over Tottenhams youth policy.Emenalo claims only Harry Kane has made an impression at first-team level and says Spurs have bought most of the other youngsters currently challenging for the Premier League title. He was responding to criticism of Chelseas academy policy, which comes despite the fact the club have just retained the UEFA Youth League and have won four of the past six FA Youth Cups. Chelsea play Manchester City in the first leg of this years final on Friday, and insists young players are given as much of an opportunity at Stamford Bridge as at Spurs.Emenalo said: In reality it is just the one key player, Harry Kane. Dele Alli they bought, Eric Dier they bought, Tom Carroll is a fringe player. So with all the hoopla about Tottenham, its just the one player. Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo So we try to remind them its not just a Chelsea problem. We want them to be patient because [the parents] want it quicker than the boys want it or the boys are ready to take it.Two players who have stepped up to the Blues first-team this season have been Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Bertrand Traore, while Todd Kane is expected to make the breakthrough next season following a successful loan with NEC Nijmegen.Emenalo also has high hopes for Andreas Christensen, Tammy Abraham, Jake Clarke-Salter and Fikayo Tomori becoming first-team regulars at Chelsea.Christensen will be a superb player, Emenalo said. I see on a regular basis that Jake Clarke-Salter and Fikayo Tomori are going to be outstanding players. Harry Kane has become a key player at Tottenham in the past two seasons They are young and I dont know if they decide to get fat. Theres nothing I can do about that. If they continue the way they are, they will make it because they have great talent, theres no doubt about that. There is a coordinated effort from everybody to want to make this happen. Not just because it feels good, and it is nice to have a backbone the fans can relate to and support. But with the investment we are making and where we think the game is going and the competition that we have, you cant just buy your way out of trouble all the time. We have a philosophy in the academy to teach them to play the right way, the way we think a big team should play. And ultimately the only way they can play that gives them a chance to play for our first-team.Also See:Premier League videoFixturesTableLive on SkyGet Sky SportsGet a £10 free bet!Nicolas Batum Hornets Jersey . Threats of the team moving have pushed fans away locally, while the product on the field has produced shoulder shrugs on a national scale. At least the Chargers still have those iconic, powder-blue uniforms!Whats goodWell, theyre still here. With the very real possibility of the Chargers moving to Los Angeles last season, team chairman Dean Spanos kept them in San Diego, at least for the time being. Aside from that, this roster got some love from fans -- the 89th-place ranking is the teams highest -- much of which is likely directed to Rivers and cornerback Jason Verrett, one of the teams most promising players. If all goes right, the Chargers should be better on the field this year. After going 4-12 a year ago, theres a chance this team could compete for a postseason berth.Whats badThe Spanos family should thank their California neighbors foor keeping them from being the most-disliked ownership group in the NFL -- only the 49ers and Rams rank worse.dddddddddddd Turns out fans still hold a grudge against the family, who attempted to move the team north to hated L.A. Chargers head coach Mike McCoy was also dropped all the way to 106th (down 23 spots), likely due to a somewhat milquetoast approach to managing a game. Meanwhile, the stadium experience in antiquated Qualcomm Stadium, which includes video boards that harken back to the days of Tecmo Bowl, is considered the worst in the NFL.Whats newThough San Diego offers one of the better ticket values in the NFL -- their pricing is slightly below the league average -- the Chargers are actually down 40 spots in bang for your buck, thanks to that four-win season after two straight winning records. That does not bode well for a team looking to woo fans to the stadium in order to create a home-field advantage. The Chargers announced attendance of 52,165 for the teams home opener (in a stadium that seats 72,000) against the Jaguars was the lowest number for a home opener in over a decade.Next: Cleveland Browns?| Full rankings ' ' '
