ATHENS, Ga. -- Georgias quarterback situation remains day-to-day, as the No. 16 Bulldogs (2-0) prepare for Saturdays road game at SEC East foe Missouri (1-1).Following freshman Jacob Easons first career start, which ended with the Bulldogs narrowly escaping Nicholls State with a 26-24 win at home, Georgia coach Kirby Smart said during his Monday news conference that both Eason and senior Greyson Lambert will continue to share reps during practice, keeping the position open for at least another week.Itll be based on how practice goes and how our game plan goes, Smart said. Thatll work itself out over the course of the week. Both quarterbacks rotated in and out during Georgias opening 33-24 victory over North Carolina, but Eason started last weeks game, completing 11-of-20 passes for 204 yards,1 touchdown and 1 interception. However, Lambert replaced Eason a series after the freshman threw a pass that was tipped and intercepted by Nicholls States Jeff Hall at the goal line and returned 91 yards. Lambert came in with 7 minutes, 50 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and only completed 2-of-3 passes for 2 yards, but he did help seal the win with a 9-yard completion to Michael Chigbu on third-and-7 late.Jacob made some mistakes, but he also made some really good plays, Smart said. Then, Greyson came in, and for a guy that came off the bench, did a great job of manufacturing a third down on a bad snap, made a great read, made a good throw and did what we asked him to do. I was very proud of how he managed the situation he was brought into.Smart said that both quarterbacks have been given an equal amount of the playbook, but that Eason isnt as advanced or as comfortable with some aspects of it as Lambert is. One area Lambert has been better at through two games is running Georgias four-minute offense, which tight end Jeb Blazevich said he has been impressed with.I think he has the experience and he can command in the huddle and he just knows exactly where everybodys supposed to be, Blazevich said of Lamberts ability to run Georgias four-minute offense. Hes been in that spot numerous times, so hes used to it, hes comfortable with it.Smart said Eason hasnt lost any confidence after Saturdays benching; this week, however, Eason will be used to get more comfortable and consistent with the Bulldogs playbook. Georgia faces a Missouri defense this weekend that ranks 13th in the SEC in total defense (461 yards per game) and 11th in passing defense (270 yards per game).[Eason] gets rushed at times, and he doesnt always have his eyes in the right place, but there were a lot of times where he showed a lot more improvement from the North Carolina game to this one in the things he looked at and managing of the huddle, Smart said. Hes got to continue to improve in that area. He did it right some and he did it wrong some, but so did Greyson, so there we lay. Cheap Jerseys Free Shipping .
